Self-driving Cars


Prof. Johnson-Roberson co-directs the UM Ford Center for Autonomous Vehicles (FCAV) where he is engaged in ongoing research into perception on self-driving cars.

We have a number of ongoing projects looking at many aspects of the problem.

Our group is looking to push the state-of-the-art in the domain by exploring novel approaches to the self-driving car problem. Deep-learning, tight integration of perception and control, and large scale simulation form the basis of our ongoing research in this area.
