Self-driving Cars

 

Autonomous driving has been a killer-app for robotic research since the earliest history of both the modern computer and modern automobile. 

For the self-driving car application, we see two critical research pushes to enable the future in that domain: 1) cost reduction; 2) reliability improvement. 

Our group is looking to push the state-of-the-art in the domain by exploring novel approaches to the self-driving car problem. Deep-learning, tight integration of perception and control, and large scale simulation form the basis of our ongoing research in this area.
